Something I’ve been waiting and longing for is finally available. I’m talking about being able to lie down on the airplane, and fully stretch my legs and get some nice sleep on long flights. And it is going to be available for economy travelers too!
Air New Zealand is introducing seats that you can fold up underneath your legs. If you’re lucky and get all three seats to yourself you can really get a comfortable flight.

The Airline will take delivery of the 777-300 planes from the end of this year which have been developed offering 22 sets of Sky Couches alongside the regular seats available in economy.
The first flights will be flown between New Zealand and Los Angeles. For those of you who want to travel between London Heathrow and New Zealand you’ll have to wait until April 2011.

Good idea and hopefully others will follow.

  1. What a GREAT idea…to think that this is the first airline to come up with this concept simply amazes me! I mean, how much can it really cost them to create something like this? And in a time where the competition between airlines is so fierce, there is NO reason why others shouldn’t be running to keep up with their competitors!!! I can’t wait to see how long it takes for others to follow…
